Description
Small scale rectangular walnut box with geometric inlaid bands of contrasting woods including rosewood, ebony, pearwood, and boxwood. The exterior with double bands of chevron marquetry bordered by stringing and black-painted trim details accents. With original brass lock escutcheon and hinges; paper-lined interior compartment and working lock and key. English, circa 1860.
