A Swedish Rococo gilt bronze mounted tulipwood, walnut and parquetry bombé commode, mid 18th century.
height 31.25 in, 79.5 cm., width 36 in. 91.5 cm., depth 20 in. 51 cm. [1. The best known maker off this distinctive form of commode, characteristic of Stockholm in the late 1760s, was Johan Neijber (maître in 1768) but the type was also made by his competitors Matthias Engström, Lars Bolin and Jonas Wahlbeck (see: T. Sylven, Mästarnas Möbler, Stockholm, 1996, p. 115, p. 69, p. 273, p. 276 and p. 361) ]
