Peking glass is a form of Chinese glassware that originated in Peking, China in the 18th century. It is made by dipping blown glass into many different layers of contrasting glass before carving away layers to reveal the colors and textures underneath.

The form of these deep orangish-brown bottles/vases were a frequently encountered Peking glass form popular with Western collectors in the nineteenth century. Similar examples, varying in color and size, can be found in many collections. [1.
