Description
Cylindrical box following the tradition of fine English personal boxes 1. Solid satinwood construction with figured grain, cast iron carry handle, and working lock with key. Black felt-lined interior compartment. Brass hinges. The box rests upon a flattened ebonized base. Period boxes of this form were crafted for the luxury market, often used for storing gloves or personal items. English, circa 1900
